Lg. E. Howard & Co. No. 70 Wall Regulator. Large E. Howard & Co. No. 70 Wall Regulator. Original 16 in. painted metal dial signed ÂE. Howard & Co., BostonÂ, has large blued spade hands and black Roman hour numerals; brass weight driven time only movement No. 5 signed ÂE. Howard & Co., Boston with silvered plates, has a long ebonized wood pendulum stick with a brass covered bob, brass lockdown hardware in the wood weight baffle (replaced) and good iron No. 11 weight with brass pulley. In an oak case with hinged wood door bezel and original reverse painted lower tablet having red & black paint with gold leaf highlights and open aperture exposing the pendulum bob. In very good condition, case has an enhanced original finish with no breaks or repairs, original glass in good condition with no touchup or inpainting. 42 in. high x 20.5 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep.

E. Howard No. 59 Re-Issue Wall Regulator. 8 in. painted metal dial signed ÂE. Howard & Co., BostonÂ, has black Roman hour numerals, blued open moon hands; brass 8 day weight driven No. 59 movement with recoil escapement, has serial number ÂSN-87Â over Â11-77Â (date). Long drop pendulum with an silvered wood stick, silvered bob & lockdown hardware mounted on the maple weight baffle, also numbered 87. In a walnut case with ebonized highlights, has an arched pediment crest and large turned finials, turned columns on the door and teardrop finials below, in excellent condition. Circa 1977. Measures 46 in. high x 15 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.

Signed A. Howard Wall Regulator. 14 in. repainted iron dial with black Roman hour numerals, sub seconds dial and pierced spade hands; brass weight driven 8 day time only movement has Graham deadbeat escapement, signed on the front plate ÂA. Howard, BostonÂ, has flat iron side weight with pulley mounted to the right on the top of the seat board, round wood pendulum rod and painted tin covered weight. In walnut case similar to the ÂE. Howard No. 13 model wall regulator with door bezel hinged at the top, arched lower door with glass panel, mirrored back and brass beat indicator at the bottom; Case measures 56 in. high x 19.5 in. wide x 8.5 in. deep; plinth measures 22 in. high x 25 in. wide x 10 in. deep. – Albert Howard, a cousin of Edward Howard, went into partnership in Dec. 1858 as ÂE. Howard & CompanyÂ; in March of 1861 they formed a joint stock company called the ÂHoward Clock & Watch Company where Albert Howard was chosen as President and Edward as Superintendent & Treasurer. The factory was closed in May of 1863 and in October of the same year, Edward was able to reform the company with himself as President.
