French Figural Moreau Swinging Arm Clock. Standing spelter figure of a French maiden in long flowing robes blowing in the wind, in her left hand she holds a tablet which reads “Au Merite” (Merit), her right hand holds up the large pendulum, on a turned ebonized wood base; sculpture is signed L.F. Moreau, tag on the front reads “Au Merite, L.F. Moreau, Mdle d’Or”, has a gilt finish. The large 3 rod gridiron pendulum has 3.5 in. spherical top containing the movement with applied brass Roman hour numerals, fancy pierced hands, gilt ribbon crest and gilt filigree shoulder supports with a spherical pendulum bob at the bottom; brass spring driven time only movement with initials “C.O.A.” over 5241 and marked France. 24 in. high.

French Figural Moreau Miniature Swinger Clock. Small standing figure of a young French boy, cast in white metal and having a nice deep brown finish, signed Aug. Moreau; his arm holds up the swinging pendulum. The gridiron pendulum is 11.5 in. long, the spring driven movement is contained within the top sphere of the pendulum behind the dial with applied brass hour numerals; has a pin pallet escapement. Clock is in good working condition; 12.5 in. high.

French Figural Moreau Mantle Clock. 3 in. porcelain dial with black Arabic hour numbers and painted floral strands of garland inside, beveled door crystal with fancy bezel; typical round French brass spring driven movement has half hour strike on a bell. Standing white metal figure of a winged maiden wearing elegant garments blowing in the wind, signed Aug. Moreau, on a rouge marble base with cast metal feet. Repair to the face of the marble and chip to the tip of one wing. 32 in. high. Pr. candelabra urn shaped side pieces having 5 candle holders on scrolling arms and rouge marble bases. 33 in. high.

French “Les Vandanges” Statue Clock: cast by L. & F. Moreau, marked France. Made of white metal on a black and white marble base. The time with half hour bell striking movement is marked JS in an oval, Silvin France and 52173. The 3 1/2″ porcelain dial is also marked Silvin Paris.

(The time of strike is reversed. The bronze finished metal has scattered wear.)
