A late 19th century L. F. & W. W. Carter "No. 2" model double dial wall clock. 8-day time only dual weight movement with lower "B. B. Lewis" calendar mechanism, a painted metal upper dial with Roman numerals and a lower calendar dial with Arabic numerals. Rosewood case with circular grain painted doors and molded drop. Old finish with some shrinkage and minor veneer loss, flaking on dials, running when cataloged. 30 1/2" high. ESTIMATE $300-500

L.F. & W.W. Carter and B.B Lewis Double Dial Calendar Clock. 12 in. paper time dial has black Roman hour numerals with days of the week inside, open moon hands and pierced spade day indicator. Has a brass weight driven time only movement with iron side weights and brass pendulum bob on a wood stick. Original B.B. Lewis lower perpetual calendar with 31 date chapter ring and month indicator inside; signed with LF. & W.W. Carter label in the back of the case. Rosewood case similar to the Welch Round Head No. 4, has a round door bezel, rectangular drop section and lower door bezel with sealed calendar mechanism behind the dial. In good condition and original finish with no veneer losses, clock is running and calendar mechanism is good. 32 in. high x 16 in. wide x 5 in. deep.

Lewis Perpetual Calendar movement with 12" painted metal dial, Arabic numerals and month indexes. Rosewood case with molded cornice over two circular wooden dial doors flanked by molded pilasters on a molded base. Original finish with minor wear, cut out access doors on backboard, lacks bottom board, minor dial flaking, running when cataloged. 34 1/4" high. ESTIMATE $1,000-1,500

Carter calendar clock with a rosewood case retaining the original finish, original paper dials and hands, unsigned 8-day brass movement, original label on the backboard for "Carter" and another on the calendar crediting "B.B. Lewis," the inventor of the perpetual calendar mechanism, runs 5-10 minutes before stopping, strike functional, calendar movement is sticky and advances the day and month at the same time. 19 in. high x 13 in. wide x 4.75 in. deep.
