An early 19th century Banjo clock by Jonathan Billings, Acton, Mass. 8-day Brass, weight driven time and strike (rack and snail) movement with original painted metal dial marked “J. Billings, Acton”. Mahogany case with Gilded finish and pierced Brass arms, Brass upper door with reverse painted throat and lower door glasses and Brass Eagle finial. Old finish with wear, some loss to the gilding, some flaking and touch up to the throat glass, repainted lower door glass, running momentarily when cataloged. 37 1/2″ overall.
