An early 19th century American Tall clock by John Wood, Philadelphia. 8-day weight driven time and strike movement with painted metal dial marked “Jno. Wood, Philadelphia” with an iron false plate marked “Wilson, Birmingham”. Mahogany case with molded broken arch top, and single hood door flanked by turned columns above a paneled waist door with figured Mahogany veneer flanked by turned Tiger Maple quarter columns on a base with shaped skirt and flared French feet. Older refinishing with minor wear, replaced finials, some veneer chips, running when cataloged. 104″ high overall.
