A 19th century American tall clock by John Edwards, Ashby, Mass (1810-1812). 30-hour weight driven time and strike wooden movement with a painted wood dial having an upper seconds track and lower hour/minute track with Arabic numerals marked "Jn Edwards". Softwood case with an arched top above a shaped dial door and rectangular waist door and base with cut out skirt. Older refinishing with some surface wear, restored crest, replaced weights, running when cataloged. 85" high. ESTIMATE $600-800

John Wood Mahogany Tall Case Clock. Brass dial has 10 in. chapter ring with black incised Roman hour numerals and Arabic 5 minute markers, signed John Wood, Philadelphia, sub seconds dial and 31 day sub calendar dial, has gilt pierced spandrels, moon phase dial and fancy pierced hands (repainted); quality brass, weight driven movement has drop hammer strike, iron weights, brass pulley, brass covered pendulum bob stamped V.R. Moyer with steel stick (no suspension spring). In a mahogany case, bonnet has broken arch crest with rosettes and flame finials, turned columns, large one board door having nice grain. 94 in. high

An early 19th century American Tall clock by John Wood, Philadelphia. 8-day weight driven time and strike movement with painted metal dial marked “Jno. Wood, Philadelphia” with an iron false plate marked “Wilson, Birmingham”. Mahogany case with molded broken arch top, and single hood door flanked by turned columns above a paneled waist door with figured Mahogany veneer flanked by turned Tiger Maple quarter columns on a base with shaped skirt and flared French feet. Older refinishing with minor wear, replaced finials, some veneer chips, running when cataloged. 104″ high overall.
