A late 19th century French Mantle clock by Japy Freres. 8-day time and strike movement with an engraved metal dial and porcelain Roman numerals with embossed Brass bezel. Cast White metal case with an Allegorical figure a woman holding a globe. Original finish with some wear, running when cataloged. 14 1/2″ high.

Japy Freres French Bronze Mantle Clock. 4 in. bronze dial with a copper tone, has incised Roman hour numerals, fancy gilt hands and brass bezel with beveled door glass; typical round French brass 8 day spring driven movement is signed Japy Freres and has an half hour strike on a steel bell. In a bronze case with figural robed maiden side columns in front of scrolling corbels and gilt highlights. Case has a replaced top finial and a lacquered finish. 17 in. high x 12 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.

Beautiful bronze case with 2 figural winged putti playfully flying over a wine cask with grapevine filigree, ribbons and 2 lizards on the ground; stands on an oak platform base. The front of the barrel is the clock dial with beaded brass bezel having a beveled crystal; applied porcelain Roman hour numerals and pierced gilt hands; typical brass 8 day spring driven movement signed ÂJapy FreresÂ has an half hour strike on a bell. In good running condition, has a nice medium brown original patina on a detailed casting. 16 in. high x 15.5 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep.

Porcelain dial has a 2.25 in. chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, open club hands and sub alarm dial; brass, spring driven movement strikes the hour on a silvered bell with hour repeater button on the top of the case, lever & platform escapement, movement does not run. In a heavy dore bronze case with standing figures on the corners, swirling leaf borders and a double figural handle; beveled glasses on 4 sides and the top. Movement is signed Japy Freres & Cie. 1855 Exposition, Grande Med. DÂ Honneur. 8 in. high x 5 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
