A 19th century carved French mantel clock by Japy Freres for C J & Co. 8-day time and strike movement with porcelain dial having Roman numerals on hours and Arabic minutes with engine turned bezel and filigree hands, serial #'s 45545 (Japy) and 01266 (C J & Co). Carved Oak case with Allegorical figures of the Arts in Fruitwood annotated "W. Hughes, 1861". Older refinishing with minor wear, minor damage, running when cataloged. 21" high. French Japy Frères Painted Wood Mantel Clock: With a T&S movement signed “Japy Frères” and numbered 15858; an unmarked porcelain dial with hour and minute markers; and the pendulum. The case is painted with a courting scene and flowers and has a metal bird finial and metal trim and feet.

Not tested.

Japy Freres Red Marble Mantel Clock w/Urn Top: Short pillar form with a bell strike movement, the number 798 and in an oval “Mosoulier Manessize Lille”. The marble dial with incised numbers is marked the same as the movement. The open urn top has ormolu mountings and handles.

The clock is running and striking at this time.

(The marble around the back access opening has a crack on the upper right side.)
