Japy Freres Bronze Figural Mantle Clock. Beautiful bronze case with 2 figural winged putti playfully flying over a wine cask with grapevine filigree, ribbons and 2 lizards on the ground; stands on an oak platform base. The front of the barrel is the clock dial with beaded brass bezel having a beveled crystal; applied porcelain Roman hour numerals and pierced gilt hands; typical brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “Japy Freres” has an half hour strike on a bell. In good running condition, has a nice medium brown original patina on a detailed casting. 16 in. high x 15.5 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep.
