Circa 1870s, Japy Freres annual calendar double dial clock. Fantastic overall condition, however the dial does have a crack and the case carries a couple surface scratches. Time only. Impressive Cathedral effect, a real conversation starter. Showcasing an ornate hand carved wooden case which perfectly accents the elegant double dials. Starts up but does not keep proper time. French Japy Freres Double Statue Clock: T & S; the movement is marked Japy Freres, #2300; has a black dial with incised Roman numerals; has statues of a man and woman in period clothing; the base is ornate white metal with 4 three-toed paw feet.

Large French Double Statue Clock on a Red Marble Base: the spelter figures support the clock and are signed A. Carrier on the base. The time and bell striking movement is marked Japy Freres, 385 and Y.N. Thomas. The 4″ ring dial is marble with gold numerals and fancy, engraved visible escapement.
27 1/2″ tall
(Running, although there is a catch in the time spring. The finish is slightly worn and partially touched up.)
