the case carved of domed form, supported above four rounded gilt lacquered feet. The dial enameled with Roman hours, set within a painted ground, the top section detailed with an immortal figure beside a leashed lion, the eye moving with automaton function, and having a large gourd-form weight.

Description: Japanese Wall Lantern Clock, Circa 1825: All brass with floral cutout frets, crown wheel, balance wheel escapement brass dial with moveable characters, single fixed hand, 30 hour T&S, weight driven. Teak wood wall shelf built and signed by H.S. Blaine Toledo, Ohio 1965. Has 4 weights, 2 large and 2 small. (One leg of clock is broken off, bell may have been replaced.) Sells as is, where is. Gilt Bronze Urn Form Mantle Clock. 4″ porcelain dial signed “H. Laresche, a Paris” has black Roman hour numerals and fancy gilt pierced decorated hands; round brass 8 day spring driven silk thread movement has a half hour strike on a bell. In a gilt bronze case in the form of a flattened urn with lion’s head side handles over hanging grape clusters, stands on a square base. Has 2 extra holes in the side of the case, replaced pendulum, striking but not running. 14.5″ high x 6.5″ wide x 5″ deep. Weight: 8 lbs.
