Long mahogany case with a broken arched pediment crest having a turned brass finial, brass bezels and maple inlaid edges; thermometer has a long 9 in. silvered dial signed “Short & Mason, London”, quality silvered 7 in. dial for the aneroid barometer & 2.5 in. silvered dial for the lower hydrometer. Clock has a 6 in. silvered dial signed “J.E. Caldwell & Co.” with black hour numbers, good blued hands; brass 8 day spring driven time only movement signed “Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, USA”, numbered 235832, platform lever escapement. In good condition, original finish and movement is running. 39 in. high.

Caldwell Brass Mantle Clock. 4 in. replaced paper dial with black hour numerals with fancy pierced brass center disc, brass bezel and hinged door with crystal; typical round French brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “Japy Freres” and “J.E. Caldwell, Philadelphia”, has an half hour strike on a bell. In a polished brass case with arched top, applied maiden’s head and filigree and 3 column side clusters. Nice condition and running. 12 in. high x 12 in. wide x 5.75 in. deep. Weight: 15.25 lbs.

Gilt brass case with hinged handle on top, beveled glass on the front, sides, rear door and top exposing the escapement, has a 2 in. porcelain dial signed “J.E. Caldwell & Co.” black Roman hour numerals, pierced black hands and sub alarm dial below; brass 8 day spring driven movement has a half hour strike on a blued coiled gong, separate hammer for alarm strike, hour repeater button on top of the case and a platform lever escapement, movement signed “J.E. Caldwell & Co., Phiadelphia” & “Duverdrey & Bloquel, France, (12) Twelve Jewels”. In beautiful condition, running and striking. 5.5 in. high x 3.75 in. wide x 3.25 in. deep.

Beautiful pierced decorated dore bronze case with convex disc panels behind the front and back, dial has Roman hour numerals and a filigree decorated center and back, fancy gilt pierced & engraved hands and a finial top with winged maiden’s head and fruit basket; round brass 8 day time only spring driven movement signed “Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, USA” and numbered 111485 with balance wheel lever escapement. On a stepped black marble base with dore bronze opposite figural winged mountain men supports on the stem. In good running condition; case attr: J.E. Caldwell. 12.75 in. high x 7 in. dia. x 3.5 in. deep.
