J.E. Caldwell Hour Repeater Carriage Clock. Gilt brass case with hinged handle on top, beveled glass on the front, sides, rear door and top exposing the escapement, has a 2 in. porcelain dial signed “J.E. Caldwell & Co.” black Roman hour numerals, pierced black hands and sub alarm dial below; brass 8 day spring driven movement has a half hour strike on a blued coiled gong, separate hammer for alarm strike, hour repeater button on top of the case and a platform lever escapement, movement signed “J.E. Caldwell & Co., Phiadelphia” & “Duverdrey & Bloquel, France, (12) Twelve Jewels”. In beautiful condition, running and striking. 5.5 in. high x 3.75 in. wide x 3.25 in. deep.
