J.C. Brown Ripple Front Beehive Clock w/ Alarm. 5.5 in. painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals, fancy blued hands and open cutout in the center displaying the brass alarm indicator disc; has an 8 day brass spring driven movement with hour count wheel strike mechanism on a coiled gong, brass covered pendulum bob, movement signed ÂJ.C. Brown, Forestville, CT, U.S.A., separate spring driven alarm mechanism in the base strikes on a brass bell. In a rosewood beehive style case with carved ripple front, original reverse painted tablet in the door with a rose, yellow flowers and silver filigree on a blue background, partial paper label in the back of the case for J.C. Brown. Case has an enhanced original finish, strike mechanism is not striking properly, movement is running. 18.75 in. high x 10.5 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

Beautiful 8 day brass works clock with fully rippled case, reverse painted glass tablet, label reads “Eight Day Brass Clock, Forestville Manufacturing J.C. Brown, Bristol, Connecticut. Key wind, pendulum. Measures approx. 18 1/2″ tall x 10 1/2″ wide x 4” deep.

J.C. Brown Ripple Front Beehive Clock: brass 8 day movement with gong strike, signed by maker. The interior label is mostly gone. The 5″ dial is original and showing its age. The case is rosewood and veneer. Circa 1860. Both glasses look original. The case is in excellent condition.

J.C. Brown Ripple Front Beehive Clock: 8 day time with hourly gong strike. Unmarked metal dial 5 1/2″ wide. The interior label states- Made by E.N. Welch at the Old Establishment and Late J.C. Brown.
(The dial is crazed; on the top joint there is a bit of veneer loss, on the back edge.)

US.; brass spring driven movement has an hour strike on a coiled gong and brass covered pendulum bob, movement signed J.C. Brown, Forestville, Conn. and partial paper label in the back of the case. In a rosewood beehive case with ripple carved front and reverse painted tablet. In good condition with a clean original finish, has a minor repair to the upper bezel beside the door hinge. 15.5 in. high x 9 in. wide x 3.5 in. deep.
