Brown Ripple Front Beehive Clock w/ Alarm. 5.5 in. painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals, fancy blued hands and open cutout in the center displaying the brass alarm indicator disc; has an 8 day brass spring driven movement with hour count wheel strike mechanism on a coiled gong, brass covered pendulum bob, movement signed ÂJ.C. Brown, Forestville, CT, U.S.A., separate spring driven alarm mechanism in the base strikes on a brass bell. In a rosewood beehive style case with carved ripple front, original reverse painted tablet in the door with a rose, yellow flowers and silver filigree on a blue background, partial paper label in the back of the case for J.C. Brown. Case has an enhanced original finish, strike mechanism is not striking properly, movement is running. 18.75 in. high x 10.5 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

Co., Bristol, Ct, U.S.A., has an hour countwheel strike mechanism on a coiled gong, brass covered pendulum bob and partial paper label in the back of the case for Forestville Manufacturing Company, Bristol, Connecticut. In a mahogany case with turned spire finials and carved ripple front; reverse painted floral tablet is replaced, case has a cleaned and enhanced finish, light losses to the tips of the finials and the dial is replaced. 20 in. high x 10.25 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

Forestville Ripple Front Steeple Clock: brass 8 day movement with gong strike. 5 1/2″ metal dial. There is a very dark blue interior label that is hard to read, the movement is marked Forestville Mfg. Co. The dial is J.C. Brown-Bristol Ct. U.S. The glass plates look original. The case is rosewood and veneer. Circa 1850-1855. With key.
