J.C. Brown Beehive Mantle Clock w/ Alarm. 4.5 in. painted metal dial signed J.C. Brown with black Roman hour numerals, open center exposing the alarm indicator disc; brass spring driven movement has an hour strike on a single bell and separate alarm mechanism in the base, movement signed J.C. Brown Forrestville, CT. U.S.A. has a brass covered pendulum bob. In a rosewood beehive case with reverse painted tablet depicting a lighthouse scene; signed on a paper label in the back of the case “Thirty Hour Brass Clocks, manufactured by J.C. Brown, Forestville, Conn.”. Case has an enhanced original finish, glasses are replaced, alarm mechanism is not connected and running, dial is repainted. 15.5 in. high x 8.5 in. wide x 3.5 in. deep.
