Ithaca No. 4.5 Favorite Calendar Shelf Clock. 8 in. paper time dial has Roman hour numerals, black spade hands and silvered bezel. Brass 8 day, spring driven movement, strikes on a coiled gong, has count wheel strike mechanism and brass covered pendulum bob; movement signed E.N. Welch and made for Ithaca Clock Co. 8 in. Lower calendar dial has 31 day calendar with exposed pendulum bob with day & month cylinders; calendar mechanism has original cylinders and is in good working condition, singed Manufactured for McGhee & Son. In a carved walnut case with fancy crest, raised burled panels and incised dial board; reverse painted gilt door glass reads – Favorite, has original finish and good condition. 32 in. high

Ithaca Calendar Clock No.4 1/2″ Favorite

Description

Ithaca, NY, late 19th century. carved walnut case housing original double-dials and movements. manufactured for R.H. McGhee & Son. Nice original example in old surface. H31 1/4″ W14″

Condition

Case and movement are complete and original, original dials with scattered stains and foxing. Calendar roller papers probably replaced, glass appears to be original. Case is in original finish, original backboard has been hinged. Clock is in good overall condition and running in the gallery. We do not guarantee timepieces after they leave the gallery.
