French Figural Rebecca At The Well Inverted Swinger Clock. Standing figure of Rebecca standing beside a stone well, at her feet a mirror resembles water with a border of lily pads, the standing figure wears a delicate robe which is blowing in the breeze, she leans slightly forward to look into the water with her left hand balanced against the stone well and her right hand holds up the pendulum which has a 2 tone gridiron shaft, the spherical bob has a champlevé bezel and the movement is contained within the bob; dial has applied brass Roman hour numerals and floral gilt hands, has its original green finish. The unusual brass spring driven movement is contained within the sphere, an internal counter weight on an X shaped suspension and attached to the crutch, which engages the escapement as the pendulum swings. Movement is singed and numbered L. Leroy & Cie. Paris, 22060; the statue is signed A. de Renieri (Aristide de Ranieri, 1880-1914, France). The white metal statue is in good condition with no breaks, damage, losses or repairs, has a good overall finish. 23.5 in. high x 16 in. wide x 11 in. deep.
Houdin Figural Mystery Swinger Clock. 6.25 in. dia. reverse painted glass dial with black Roman hour numerals, arrow style hands, a brass disc center with small unusual pinwheel mystery escapement and pendulum bob behind the hands and contained within. Dial is mounted at the top of a large 2 tone gridiron pendulum suspended on a rod held by a standing female figure; has a 3.5 in. star studded spherical bob with blue finish and applied wreath and crown on the front, the bob contains a round brass 8 day spring time only driven movement, numbered 878, which powers the clock and has an inverted pendulum crutch reaching up from the top. The spelter figure wearing spring garments, holds the pendulum up in one hand and a nest of birds in the other beside her hip; stands on a rouge marble base with 4 turned feet. 30 in. high x 9 in. wide x 9 in. deep. Standing cast metal figure of a woman wearing lose robes blowing in the breeze, holds a set of dividers in her right hand and holds the pendulum up in her left, the pendulum has a long brass rod with beveled glass bob, gilt finish and is numbered on the bottom Â1790Â; she stands on a gilt brass platform signed ÂPH. Mourey and matching number 1790, as the movement runs it swivels the platform and figure slightly clockwise then counter clockwise swinging the pendulum which regulates the clock. 4 in. white onyx dial has applied pierced brass Roman hour numerals, gilt spade hands and a gilt brass bezel; round French brass 8 day spring driven movement is signed ÂGLT (Guilmet) and numbered 1647, has a half hour count wheel strike on a single bell. Fluted plinth style white onyx case with gilt metal ribbon, corbel, shield mounts & feet, stands on a gilt carved wood platform base. In good running condition, no breaks, chips or repairs to the onyx. 25.5. in. high.
