American. 1870s. Mahogany. Movement stamped, "E. Howard & Co., BOSTON". Dial marked, "P.R.R. 0008". Label inside reads, "Pennsylvania R.R. Clock 0008, located at Cresson Ticket Office for many years, Bought of Mr. Geo. H. Adams, Latrobe, Pa., January 7, 1937 for nine dollars, $9.00. Clock was made by E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass. and was in service at Cresson for more than 75 years. J.S. Fl….". Another label reads, "Pennsylvania Railroad Co., Clock 0008, located at Cresson, PA, for many years. Purchased Sept 14, 1935 by check no. 9578 sent to C.C. Crow, Supervising Agent, Pittsburgh Division, Pittsburgh, Pa. Clock was made by E. Howard & Co, Boston, Mass. Edward Howard was born in 1813". Additional notes included within. Retains original dial, pendulum, throat tablet with minor corner crack. Original surface and original reverse painted glass. Mechanically functioning.
