A 1930's Period E. Howard & Co. model 95 Banjo clock. 8-day weight driven time only movement marked "E. Howard & Co. Boston, 5" with painted metal dial and Roman numerals marked "E. Howard & Co. Boston". Mahogany case with Gilded Eagle finial, Brass upper door bezel, pierced Brass arms, reverse painted Eagle on Shield throat glass with a Naval Battle scene in bottom door, shaped lower drop with ball finials and carved fluted detail. Old finish with minor wear, minor dial flakes, finial partially re-gilded. 41" high overall. ESTIMATE $1,000-2,000

Partial label in bottom of case. Double signed “E. Howard & Co, Boston” on both movement and dial. Original finish with some wear, lacks 2/3 of bottom board in case. 32″ high.

Howard & Co. Boston, has recoil escapement, No. 5 weight, ebony pendulum stick, brass bob and replaced weight baffles, brass lockdown hardware. Rosewood grain painted case has original French polished finish, original reverse painted throat and door glasses having some minor inpainting; bottom of the case has some minor restoration. 29 in. high.
