Hershchede Pattern 50 Mahogany 9 Tube Grandfather Clock. 12 in. silvered dial signed “The Frank Herschede Co., Cincinnati” with applied brass hour numbers, silvered sub seconds dial, moon phase with silvered arch, sub dials for Chime/Silent & Westminster/Whittington chimes, brass back plate with fancy pierced gilt brass filigree decorated center and corner spandrels and pierced hands; brass weight driven movement marked “Germany” has Graham deadbeat escapement, retaining power, quality brass weights, pulleys and pendulum bob with steel pendulum stick and has 9 silvered tubes signed “Herschede Hall Clock, Cincinnati, O, Crown Symphony Tube”. In a beautiful carved mahogany case with arched bonnet top, medallion crest, carved filigree on the frieze, pierced carved side panels and turned columns on the corners with carved capitols; the body has a long beveled glass door with turned columns having carved capitols, inset carved panel in the base with turned corner columns and stands on carved claw feet. In very good condition, case has an excellent original finish. 88.5 in. high x 27 in. wide x 18 in. deep.
