Federal Tall Clock in a Roxbury Style Case. Lg. painted iron dial has a 13 in. chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, sub seconds dial, fancy pierced black hands, floral corner spandrels and moon phase dial, dial back is signed Walker & Finnemore (Birmingham, early 19th century); brass weight driven movement has iron weights with brass pulleys, brass covered pendulum bob hanging from a steel rod (suspension spring broken) and has an hour drop hammer strike on an iron bell. In a mahogany case with pierced crest, spun brass finials, fluted turned columns on the bonnet, fluted quarter columns with brass capitols on the corners of the body with inlaid panels and borders on the door and base. Refinished, base has some looseness and a vertical split in the front panel, repair to crest. 98 in. high x 20 in. wide x 9.5 in. deep.

A fine Federal tall case clock, whose case, of dense and dark solid mahogany, is inlaid with shells, star, etc and line inlay, all standing on bracket feet The dial is believed to be from the shop of Nolan & Curtis, and there is an eight day bell strike movement. Probably New Jersey or New York, ca 1790-1810. 97″ in overall height without brass finial.
