An early 20th century Annular mantel clock by Harold Carter-Bowles, Cheltenham, England 1889-1961. 8-day time and strike movement with rotating Silvered indicator rings having Roman numerals on hours and Arabic minutes. Urn form turned wooden case with chased Bronze fittings, having a lift-off cover, decorated with hand painted Court scenes. Stamped "Carter Bowles, Cheltenham" mark under base. An early 20th century mantel clock with musical automaton by Harold Carter-Bowles, Cheltenham, England 1889-1961. 8-day time and strike movement with "Gautier" balance wheel escapement and Silvered dial with Roman numerals by Silvani, Paris. Painted wooden case with Brass head and Owl finial, lower Windmill automaton with river boats moving along a canal and cylinder music box inside the case winds independently to power the music box and automaton which plays at 6:00, 9:00 and 12:00, repeats on demand. Paper label "Carter Bowles…Cheltenham" under base. Some paint and dial wear, running when cataloged, automaton and music box working. 16 1/4" high. L.F. & W.W. Carter and B.B Lewis Double Dial Calendar Clock. 12 in. paper time dial has black Roman hour numerals with days of the week inside, open moon hands and pierced spade day indicator. Has a brass weight driven time only movement with iron side weights and brass pendulum bob on a wood stick. Original B.B. Lewis lower perpetual calendar with 31 date chapter ring and month indicator inside; signed with LF. & W.W. Carter label in the back of the case. Rosewood case similar to the Welch Round Head No. 4, has a round door bezel, rectangular drop section and lower door bezel with sealed calendar mechanism behind the dial. In good condition and original finish with no veneer losses, clock is running and calendar mechanism is good. 32 in. high x 16 in. wide x 5 in. deep.

Lewis" calendar mechanism, a painted metal upper dial with Roman numerals and a lower calendar dial with Arabic numerals. Rosewood case with circular grain painted doors and molded drop. Old finish with some shrinkage and minor veneer loss, flaking on dials, running when cataloged. 30 1/2" high. ESTIMATE $300-500
