Grand Sonnerie Ebonized Bracket Clock. 6.5″ porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals, pierced brass hands, open aperture with mirror rocking with the beat of the pendulum, 2 porcelain sub dials in the arch and center plaque with rabbit hunting scene; sub dial to the right is for silent strike, dial to the left appears to do nothing. Brass 8 day spring driven movement has a grand sonnerie quarter hour strike with repeater on 2 bells and a crown-wheel verge escapement. In an ebonized case with 6 turned finials at the top, glass panels on the front, rear door and on the sides, plastic panels with brass mullions highlight the corner spandrels and upper side sections. Enhanced oiriginal ebonized finish, replaced upper 2 finials, replaced feet, dials have chipping and touchup, hands repaired, bezel around dial is replaced; movement running and striking, reverse of dial-plate inscribed with “KL” initials (likely of a restorer). 18.5″ high x 11.25″ wide x 5.5″ deep. Weight: 10.5 lbs.
