Gilt Bronze Quarter Hour Repeater Grand Sonnerie Carriage Clock. Japonesque case has hand hammered mixed metal front and side panels in copper, silver, yellow gold and dark brown patina with relief flowers, filigree and insects, has turned bamboo style corner columns with mixed metal capitols and a hinged handle on the top; beveled glass on the rear door, front and oval top exposing the escapement. 2 in. silvered dial signed “Bigelow, Kennard & Co., Boston”, has black incised Roman hour numerals, 5 minute numerals and open moon hands; brass 8 day spring driven movement has a platform lever escapement and repeating quarter hour Grand Sonnerie strike on 2 coiled gongs.
