Gilbert “Elberon” Calendar Mantle Clock. 8 in. paper dial has black Roman hour numerals and black hands, pierced brass spring driven movement with half hour count wheel strike mechanism and coiled gong, signed Wm. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn. USA. Reverse painted door glass is black with a group of 3 pheasants nesting in the grass, has gilt borders around 3 open apertures exposing the month, date and day on 3 rotating discs of the calendar movement attached to the back of the door. In an oak case with turned finials, spiral turned bars along the frieze, spiral turned columns on the sides with back corbels and beaded border on the door frame. In good condition and enhanced original finish, original door glass, dial, calendar discs, original paper labels are excellent and timepiece & calendar are in running condition. 31 in. high x 15.5 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep.
