George III Mahogany Tall Case Clock, T. Lister, Halifax
circa 1800, mahogany veneers, pine secondary, hood with broken arch pediment, banded veneer hinged door, painted metal dial, marked T. Lister Halifax, with second hand and date hand, Roman numerals, painted figures and spandrels, hood pediment supported by fully turned columns, the case with hinged arched waist door, molded stiles, the base with burlwood veneered panel with banded veneer border, scalloped skirt, bracket feet, with pendulum and two weights.

Hand-Painted Corner Medallionssurrounding dial w/ woman representing the Continents (Europe, Africa, Asia, American) Also includes terrestrial hemispheres above dial. Some paint loss to dial and moon phase. Marked “Finnemore Birmingham” onFalse Plate and reverse of Moon Phase dial. Hood having Scrolled Pediment w/ Rosettes supported by twin turned collonnettes flanking an arched glazed- glass door. Case w/ central arched panel door with bonediamond key escutcheon over beaded recessed rectangular panel flanked by barley twist quarter columns. Base w/ beaded recessed octagonal crotch mahogany panel over scrolled skirt and splayed feet. Veneer loss chipsand cracks to case/base. (Large crack on base) Missing 3 finials. 7’10” tall.
