Original 7 in. painted iron dial with black Roman hour numerals, period open moon hands; typical weight driven, brass, banjo clock movement, recoil escapement, steel pendulum rod with brass bob, weight baffle and iron weight. Mahogany, banjo style case with carved & scrolling sidearms and original reverse painted black & gilt glasses with banded inlaid boarders and a brass eagle & ball finial. Paper label inside case for J.J. Beals Clock Manufacturer (1838-1874). Case has an old overcoated finish, bottom board is repaired, glasses having some flaking, minor inpainting to lower tablet. 35 in. high x 10 in. wide x 4.5 in. deep.
