Gale’s Patent “Arditi” Double Dial Calendar Mantle Clock. Original 8 in. paper time dial has black Roman hour numerals and black spade hands; brass 8 day spring driven movement signed E.N. Welch, has an hour countwheel strike on a coiled gong, wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob. Lower 8 in. calendar dial has 31 date numbers and sub-dials indicating the day & month; Gale’s patented perpetual calendar mechanism is in good running condition and signed with paper label in the back of the case. Carved walnut case has pierced carved gallery crest with side corbel along the door; in excellent condition and original finish. 27.5 in. high x 17.5 in. wide x 6 in. deep.
