American Presentation Banjo Clock. 7 in. painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals, fancy black hands and brass bezel with convex glass. Brass, 8 day time only movement singed Jos. A. Bollinger, Phila, has recoil escapement, lead weight, brass pulley and brass covered pendulum bob with steel stick. In a mahogany presentation banjo case having gilt brass eagle finial and pierced side arms, gilt wood presentation bracket, throat and door with rope twist borders and reverse painted glasses, some flaking to the gilt on the case. 37 in. high

French Slate Clock w/Railroad Presentation: the time and bell striking movement is by S. Marti & Cie and is numbered 2109. The presentation is applied to the case’s front and reads “K. Shackell- From the Clerks of the Audit Office- Grand Trunk Railroad of Canada- As a Mark of Respect & Esteem. Montreal- Oct. 1st, 1867”. With fancy 6 1/2″ dial and visible escapement. There is an original period key with it.
(The slate has some small scattered chips. A long 3/4″ sliver chip is on the right edge, below the curled design. There is a flat chip behind the bezel between the 2 and 3.)

Weight driven antique Presentation Banjo clock, c. 1820’s, mahogany case with brass bezel and Roman numeral painted dial, gold gilted base, gold eagle, brass side brackets, beautiful reverse painted glass lower tablet and throat. Beautiful reverse painted glass with sailing ships and American seal apeture, bordered by ornate gold fancy edging, gold leaves from urn and matching border adorn the throat, beautiful brass pendulum. This timepiece is a beautiful example of the Presentation Banjo Clocks of the 1820s. Note: tip of eagles wing broken.
