French Industrial Steam Engine Clock
Attributed to Guilmet, circa 1890. Marked 'BREVETE S.G.D.G.'. A cylinder and piston with a vertical connecting rod powers the flywheel with a centrifugal governor assembly. The cylinder has two large fireboxes on either side mounted with boilers with all attendant pressure lines and tubing leading to the cylinder. There is also a barometer over the right firebox and a thermometer behind the cylinder. The automation is driven by a separate spring motor housed in the base, powering the flywheel. Featuring gilt and two tone patinated bronze throughout on a rouge marble base.

French Industrial Steam Hammer Clock. The large bronze case has gilt brass trimmings with piston cylinder on top and a lever leading over to a platform on the left side, between the legs of the case frame is a silvered anvil and hammer which rocks up and down forming the visible portion of the complex pendulum. Has a round French brass movement signed GLT Paris (Guilemt) and also signed Japy Freres; movement has a steel pin pallet escapement and strikes on a steel bell. In very good condition, has a small chip to the back corner of the marble base. 18 in. high x 12 in. wide x 6 in. deep

French Industrial Animated Steam Engine Clock. Tri-tone bronze and rouge marble case in the form of a steam pump engine with piston in the center front driven by the large flywheel and governor assembly at the top with pierced baluster gallery having acorn finials, pierced corbels, 4 round columns and square marble columns; the body of the case has an incised brick design with 2.5 in. silvered dial aneroid barometer on the left, 2.5 in. silvered time dial to the right signed ÂJ.E. Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia with thermometers in between. Has a brass 8 day spring driven movement with platform lever escapement and strikes on a coiled gong. In working condition, has a nice gilt, silvered & brown patina. 16.5 in. high x 14.75 in. wide x 8.5 in. deep.

Featuring original gilt and deep brown patina throughout on a rouge marble base, Circa 1890. 18.5 in. high x 14 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.
