French Industrial Steam Clock & Barometer. A large central cylinder and piston with a vertical connecting rod powers the flywheel with a centrifugal governor assembly. The cylinder has two large fireboxes on either side mounted with boilers with all attendant pressure lines and tubing leading to the cylinder. Clock movement is located above the left firebox, has black Roman hour numerals and open moon hands; there is a barometer over the right firebox and a thermometer behind the cylinder. The automation is driven by a separate spring motor housed in the base, powering the flywheel. Featuring original gilt and deep brown patina throughout on a rouge marble base, Circa 1890. 18.5 in. high x 14 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.

The large bronze case has gilt brass trimmings with a piston cylinder on top and a lever leading over to a platform on the left side, between the legs of the frame is a silvered anvil and hammer which rocks up and down forming the visible portion of the complex pendulum. Has a round French brass movement signed GLT Paris (Guilmet), also signed Japy Freres and numbered 506; movement has a steel pin pallet escapement and strikes on a steel bell. In very good condition, has bronze operator figure standing on the platform to the left, silvered dial has a nice patina, minor repair to the joint of one of the valves at the top. 18 in. high x 12 in. wide x 6 in. deep. Accompanied by a matching pair of 2 arm candleholders with similar shaped cases simulating a roller press. In good condition, 10.5 in. high. Weight: 28.75 lbs.

Has a round French brass movement signed GLT Paris (Guilemt) and also signed Japy Freres; movement has a steel pin pallet escapement and strikes on a steel bell. In good overall condition, original silvering is worn from some of the brass parts, movement is not running. 18 in. high x 12 in. wide x 6 in. deep. Accompanied by a pair of 2 arm candleholders with similar shaped cases simulating a roller press. In good condition, 10.5 in. high.
