French Figural Marble & Bronze Mantle Clock. Gilt bronze seated figure of a philosopher with a pen and a basket of paper scrolls, black marble clock tower with arched top, black marble base with green marble inset panels on the front and sides with gilt bronze mounts and trim. 4 in. porcelain dial with open moon hands; round French brass 8 day spring driven movement signed ÂJapy FreresÂ & ÂRollin a ParisÂ, has a half hour strike on a bell. Black marble has a few breaks and repairs, front feet are broken off but we do have them, no hairlines in the dial. 17 in. high x 21.5 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.

The 8 day French spring driven brass movement is running and striking, has a half an hour strike on a bell, signed “Samuel Marti” on back; The figural cherub case has some wear to the gilt and a few rough spots on the marble. Dimensions: 15 in. high x 12 1/4 in. wide x 7 1/4 in. deep. Weight: 40.70 lbs.
