Gilt Bronze Urn Form Mantle Clock. 4″ porcelain dial signed “H. Laresche, a Paris” has black Roman hour numerals and fancy gilt pierced decorated hands; round brass 8 day spring driven silk thread movement has a half hour strike on a bell. In a gilt bronze case in the form of a flattened urn with lion’s head side handles over hanging grape clusters, stands on a square base. Has 2 extra holes in the side of the case, replaced pendulum, striking but not running. 14.5″ high x 6.5″ wide x 5″ deep. Weight: 8 lbs.

Gilt Brass & Porcelain Throne Novelty Clock. Beautiful gilt brass case in the form of a chair with fancy crest, engraved & pierced decorated design; in the seat is a porcelain painted inset with a scene of a man playing bag pipes for a woman, porcelain is signed ÂS. Baker Samson ChinaÂ. The seat back has a 1.5 in. porcelain dial with open center with a rotating disc sub seconds dial, brass & jeweled hands; has a spring driven pocket watch type movement with balance wheel lever escapement exposed through the center of the dial and in the back of the chair. Movement plates have remnants of the makers mark with reads ÂJ.S. Ma., Baltimore, MDÂ, case is in excellent condition and movement is running, under a miniature glass dome on a wood base. Chair measures 4.75 in. high, dome measures 9.5 in. high.
