French Figural Bisque Clock Set. Clock case has a large fluted plinth with an hourglass form, decorated floral garland and filigree, topped with a seated figure of a Frenchman playing a mandolin; has 2 side figures, one is a woman walking, she rests her right hand across her breast and carries a basket on her left arm and has her head tilted to the right, the opposite figure is a French gentleman, he holds his hat in his right hand with his coat draped over his arm, he looks to his left and rests his left arm at his chest. The case contains the clock movement with a 3.25 in. porcelain dial, fancy pierced & gilt filigree hands, blue painted Roman hour numerals and black 5 minute numbers outside, good gilt brass door bezel with domical glass; has a typical 8 day, round, French, brass, spring driven movement with bell strike, movement signed Japy Freres. Overall clock measures 19 in. high x 10.5 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.
