DESCRIPTION: French Empire gilt bronze Wall Cartel "The Lyre" clock attributed to Claude Galle (1759-1815). Features a gilt bronze lyre formed case with black Roman numeral marked, white enamel dial. Designed with ornate foilate reliefs, figural putti musicians, laurel leaves, palmettes and flowers along the trims, and head of Apollo crest. Features a bell strike, pendulum movement. Includes paperwork from (La Pendulerie)

DESCRIPTION: Important gilt bronze Empire mantle clock attributed to Claude Galle, designed with a round, black Roman numeral, white enamel dial with pierced bronze with blued steel date hand. Signed: "Chatenay a Versailles" Features an octagonal gilt bronze case with finely chased flowerets and leaves, two figures: a warrior in antique dress with crested helmet, holding a sword and shield, who is about to kiss a women dressed in antique antique drapery, who tenderly holds out a baby to him. The scene from the Trojan War depictions the farewell between Hector and his wife Andromache and young son, Astyanax. The base decorated with low-relief allegories of conjugal love and fidelity. A depiction of Hector finely asking his brother Paris to fight to defend the city of Troy. Completed with a pendulum movement on finely chased feet. Includes key and paperwork from (La Pendulerie)

French Bronze Wall Hanging Cartel Clock. 3.5 in. porcelain dial has blue Roman hour numerals, black 5 minute numbers outside, fancy gilt pierced hands and brass door bezel with convex glass; round French brass spring driven movement with silk thread suspension, count wheel half hour strike mechanism on a steel bell and signed Raingo Freres, Paris. In a gilt bronze case with fancy pierced filigree design, in good overall condition; dial has some damage around the edges. 18 in. high x 11 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
