French Empire Ormolu-Mounted Mahogany Portico Clock, circa 1810
Dial signed Victor Chatriot, Ru de Cliche, Paris 1800. At least 2 Month duration with calendar, equation of time. Movement housed in A frame, silvered dial with blued steel Breguet style hands, compensating gridiron pendulum. Pinwheel escapement.

Mahogany & Ormolu Swinging Portico Clock. True gridiron pendulum has a temperature indication on the front, hangs and swings from a knife edge suspension at the top of the case, gilt bronze pendulum bob decorated with figural dolphins and filigree bezel around the 3.5 in. dial with black painted Roman hour numerals and blued open moon hands, the pendulums pointer swings within a mounted bronze well with beat indicator painted on the front and pin in the rear which engages the crutch of the movement. Has an half hour strike on a steel bell, movement is signed Bechot and the dial is signed Gittion a Paris. Mahogany portico style case with turned tapered columns and bronze ormolu mounts & capitols. In good condition, original finish. 22 in. high x 13 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep.

Rare A. Courbet, Ormolu-Mounted & Ebonized Striking Lyre Clock, circa 1815
Ebonized lyre form with apollo mask and cockerel heads, 3 1/2 in. gilt dial with subsidiary seconds, bell striking movement with pin-wheel escapement. Knife-edge suspension, nine rod gridiron pendulum. Signed by A. Courbet of Paris.
