French Double Striking Morbier Clock, 8-day time and strike, weight driven, simple calendar movement with anchor escapement in an iron post and plate frame, white enamel dial with Roman numerals signed "Lelandais Juvigny Le' Tertre," pressed brass dial mask and matching pendulum with scroll and peacock and swan design, two pierced brass hands and one iron hand, dial with hairlines and staining, dial mask loose, original iron weight, not running, strike functional, 54 in. high x 12 in. wide x 8 in. deep.
Description
A 19th century French Morbier wall clock by “Nathieu Bourroufse, a’ Neillan”. 8-day weight driven movement with crown wheel escapement and porcelain dial with embossed Brass bezel and compensating pendulum. Later wall bracket, many cracks and flakes in dial, bezel painted gold. Running when cataloged. Approx. 59″ high overall. ESTIMATE $200-300
