Description: Antique French Bronze Pons Mermaid & Merman Statue Clock: T & S with a porcelain dial marked “Marquis Paris”; the movement is marked “Pons”& “Jarret Paris”. The wood case has a heavy dial surround of waves, seashells and a crab and is supported by merpeople. The top is two cherubs, one holding an arrow. There are devil masks on the sides. Circa early to mid 1800s. Not tested. There are no condition problems. Sells as is, where is.

Pons Bronze Clock w/Mermaid & Merman: Also marked Farret A Paris with a bell strike movement and a porcelain dial marked Marquis A Paris. The hands are very fancy and look original. The painted black wooden case is topped with bronze putti figures. A bronze mermaid and merman like figures support the case. Around the dial and back door there are wave like shapes. The design around the front glass includes a crab and shells. On each side is a face with acanthus leaf hair and beard and curled ram horns. The wooden base is framed in bronze with leaf shapes. There is an old size 14 key marked France with the clock.

Farret dates from 1840 – 1870.

The clock runs and strikes at this time. (There is some slight roughness around the keyholes. The pendulum with the clock may not be the proper size for it.) Pons 1827 Dore Bronze Clock w/Lady: The silk string bell strike movement has No. 402 on it. There is a regal looking woman leaning on a fancy writing desk with books on the other side. Below that there is a putti figure with a mandolin. He is seated on a background that covers everything from art to war. The curled feet on the case have acanthus leaves above them.

(There is no pendulum for this clock. The springs do not sound all that great when wound. The dial is fractured with replaced hands.)

Pons 1827 Dore Bronze Clock w/Lady: The bell strike movement is unmarked, except for No. 811. The porcelain dial with the original looking hands has no problems. The regal looking woman is in a thoughtful pose as she stands by a nice writing desk with books by the other side. The case, below the dial, has copper around the body. On the case there is a putti figure with a mandolin . The background around the putti covers many things from art to war. The base is gilt bronze with curled feet and acanthus leaf ornaments. The copper on the case gives a nice break from the gilt coloration. Circa Pre – 1850. This clock matches clock #157 but with a copper background.

The clock is running and striking at this time.

Pons Raingo Freres Clock, Bronze Warrior & Horse: Silk String with a bell strike movement No. 2553 and a porcelain dial. The early case is topped with a Genghis Khan like warrior on a horse. They are on a rock mound above the gilt bronze base decorated with an urn of flowers. Both springs are good.

(There is no pendulum with the clock. The dial is fractured. The tail on the horse has been re-attached.)
