The French mantle clock has a classical bronze figure of a man on top wearing draping garments and holding a lyre in this left hand; he sits atop a black marble base with motifs having medallions with women heads. The dial has gilt Roman hour numerals, hands and bezel. French 8 day time & strike brass movement. The clock has damage on the base. Dimensions: 19.5 in. high x 19 in. wide x 7 in. deep. Weight: 57.67 lbs.

French Figural Marble & Bronze Mantle Clock. Gilt bronze seated figure of a philosopher with a pen and a basket of paper scrolls, black marble clock tower with arched top, black marble base with green marble inset panels on the front and sides with gilt bronze mounts and trim. 4 in. porcelain dial with open moon hands; round French brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “Japy Freres” & “Rollin a Paris”, has a half hour strike on a bell. Black marble has a few breaks and repairs, front feet are broken off but we do have them, no hairlines in the dial. 17 in. high x 21.5 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.

On the case is a figural muse, a woman seated on an ottoman, she holds a wreath in one hand and a torch in the other, has a medium brown patina with green highlights; a black marble base with dore bronze mounts, winged cherubs on the corners, hanging strands of fruit, maidens head and scrolled shield feet. 3.5 in. dial with black roman numerals and open club hands. Typical French brass silk thread movement has count wheel strike mechanism, strike on a bell. 24 in. high x 16 in. wide x 7 in. deep

Beautiful desk clock in the form of a large bell; silvered bronze bell with studded oak yoke and gilt bronze frame; on a rouge marble base, bell is engraved “vae mihi si non evangelisavero” (Woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel). Centered in the front of the bell is a 3 in. silvered dial with black Roman hour numerals; typical round French brass spring driven movement signed “Japy Freres & Cie”, lever platform escapement is running and has an half hour strike on a gong. 15 in. high x 11.25 in. wide x 8.25 in. deep. Weight: 27 lbs.
