French Figural Marble & Bronze Mantle Clock. Gilt bronze seated figure of a philosopher with a pen and a basket of paper scrolls, black marble clock tower with arched top, black marble base with green marble inset panels on the front and sides with gilt bronze mounts and trim. 4 in. porcelain dial with open moon hands; round French brass 8 day spring driven movement signed ÂJapy Freres & ÂRollin a ParisÂ, has a half hour strike on a bell. Black marble has a few breaks and repairs, front feet are broken off but we do have them, no hairlines in the dial. 17 in. high x 21.5 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.

A late 18th century French Bronze and Marble mantel clock. 8-day time and strike movement with a painted porcelain dial with Arabic numerals and Gilded filigree hands. Bronze case with Ribbon and foliate design, marble finial and base. Painted surface with some wear, dial damage at regulation arbor, running when cataloged. 16 " high. ESTIMATE $300-400

French Marble & Bronze Mantle Clock. On the case is a figural muse, a woman seated on an ottoman, she holds a wreath in one hand and a torch in the other, has a medium brown patina with green highlights; a black marble base with dore bronze mounts, winged cherubs on the corners, hanging strands of fruit, maidens head and scrolled shield feet. 3.5 in. dial with black roman numerals and open club hands. Typical French brass silk thread movement has count wheel strike mechanism, strike on a bell. 24 in. high x 16 in. wide x 7 in. deep
