French Bronze Animated Gothic Steeple Clock. Bronze 2 tone gilt and patinated case in the form of a tall gothic cathedral with long arches, tall spires, balcony, standing and seated figures. 2.5 in. porcelain dial has open moon hands and black Roman hour numerals, typical round French brass 8 day movement, singed ÂPonsÂ, with half hour strike on a single bell with 2 hammers once on the half hour and 2 times for each hour; simultaneously with the bell strike 2 animated figures seated at the balcony of the clock swing a hammer at a bell hanging between them. Clock is in good overall condition, having a nice finish and running; minor repair to the hammer of the figure on the base, few hairlines in the dial radiating out from the center. 22.5 in. high x 12.5 in. wide x 5 in. deep.

Hour, France measures 2 in. dia., not running. Dial has chips around the winding hole, case has 2 corner chips and one corner repair on the back right corner, in good overall condition. 20.5 in. high x 8 in. wide x 7.25 in. deep.

Gothic Arch Steeple Mantle Clock w/ Alarm. 6 in. painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals, open center exposing the alarm indicator disc; brass spring driven movement has an hour strike in a coiled gong and separate alarm mechanism in the base striking a brass bell, has a brass covered pendulum bob and movement signed Brewester & Ingrahams, Bristol, Ct. U.S. In a gothic arched onion top rosewood case with turned double columns under conical finials on the sides with frosted and cut glass tablet in the door, paper label in the back of the case for J.J. Beals & Co.Âs Clock Establishment. Case has an overcoated finish and is in good overall condition with a few light chips to the finials and repaired minute hand.19.5 in. high x 11.75 in. wide x 2.75 in. deep.

French Bronze Animated Fountain Clock. The dial has a relief decorated dore bronze chapter ring with rose and filigree design and painted black Roman hour numerals on round panels, silvered damascened center and open moon hands. The 2 tone dore & patinated bronze clock case has a figural cherub on top, leaning against an urn, the urn has a spiral glass rod which spins, running on a separate movement contained in the case; the figure holds a gold paddle and beside the figure, tucked among the reeds is a lyre, painted pallet and a bundle with initials ÂAi. Co.Â Decorated around the dial with hanging cornucopias under fruit baskets with figural dolphin faces spitting out 3 more spiral glass rods into the gothic arch pierced decorated well below; the lower spinning rods run on a separate movement contained in the bottom of the case. Has a typical round brass spring driven silk thread movement with half hour count-wheel strike mechanism on a bell. 22.5 in. high x 10 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.

French Giltwood & Bronze Animated Pendulum Lyre Timepiece with Matching Candelabrum, Circa 1890, 2 1/2″ excellent hand painted enamel dial, 8-day, brass spring driven movement, very unusual small sized lyre clock with exposed circular rhinestone pendulum, fine Verni Martin hand painted decoration on the giltwood case with high quality ormolu decorations, finely painted floral wreaths, a very fine clock set, excellent condition with normal wear. Height 12″, Width 5″, Depth 4″.

Signed ‘COMPTOIR GENERAL H. RIONDET 9 BD POISSONNIERE PARIS’ on both dial and movement, original finish ormolu case with extensive cast design of a central turret flanked by winged griffins, a rounded veranda above the dial and clock movement mounted in a rounded bronze simulation of a stone wall with cut-away frieze and scrolling designs above a heraldic pendant. The convex porcelain enamel dial has hand painted roman numerals at the hour positions along with Arabic numerals at five minute increments. Measures 30 x 13 x 5 inches.

Condition

Very good condition. There is green verdigris oxidation along one side of the tiled ‘roof’ above the dial right side, the veranda ‘wall’ pivots a bit on its mounts. The pronounced convex dial is in excellent condition and is free from scratches, chips, hairlines, repairs or issues of any type, the surface is shiny and fine. The finish of the bronze case is not typical of an antique bronze dore finish. Good running condition. We cannot guarantee the running condition of timepieces post sale following movement and shipping.
