French Elephant Clock with Cupid, Circa 1850 : The bell striking movement is No. 1625 and has porcelain numerals on the metal dial. The highly polished features include a cherub with bow and arrow plus shell and floral designs. The clock is mounted on a dark red marble base with gilt metal ornaments and feet.

French Empire Silk Thread Figural Bronze Cupid Clock. Gilt bronze of a figural standing winged cupid beside a whetstone grinding wheel, he smiles as he sharpens the arrow of love; the clock is contained in the body below with French Empire period designed tables on either side, one with a jug and cup, the other with a basket of flowers, the scene in the arched panel of the base depicts a dog seated on a rock and watching cupid string his bow. 4 in. porcelain dial has black hour numerals and blued open moon hands; brass spring driven 8 day movement has a silk thread suspension and half hour strike on a bell. In very good condition, beautiful finish, no breaks or repairs, tip of the arrow is missing. 18 in. high x 12.5 in. wide x 5 in. deep.
