Birge and Ives triple decker 8 day shelf clock, Birge & Ives, Bristol, Conn., ca. 1830s, mahogany case with carved eagle splat, carved half columns and claw feet, hand painted dial, mirrored mid section between turned columns, reverse painted glass bottom tablet, painted wooden dial, measures approx. 35 1/2″ tall x 17″ wide x 4″ deep.
A mid-19th century C & L C Ives Triple decker shelf clock. 8-day strap brass, time and strike movement with painted wooden dial. Mahogany case with carved crest, two doors with a central and lower reverse painted glasses flanked by turned columns. Refinished with restored glass, and veneer repair. 38″ high.

Painted metal dial has a raised chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, blued pierced hands and open center; 8 day brass weight driven movement has lyre shaped plates , countwheel strike mechanism with coiled gong, brass pendulum bob and iron weights. In a rosewood triple decker case with original reverse painted door glasses in good condition and original finish. 32.5 in. high x 19 in. wide x 6 in. deep.

(There is no pendulum. The dial is cracked. The case is scuffed, scraped and has some small splits. The back of the case is split. The interior label is rough.)

Painted wood dial has a 10 in. gilt painted chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and gilt filigree corner spandrels, blued spade hands; brass weight driven 8 day strap plate movement has a count wheel hour strike mechanism on an iron bell, iron side weights and brass covered pendulum bob. In a mahogany triple decker case with carved eagle crest, acanthus carved half columns at the top and bottom with gilt turned columns in the center and stands on turned gilt feet. Reverse decorated center tablet has a scene with hunters camped out festively enjoying a meal, has some flaking and loss; lower tablet is reverse painted with a scenic view of a lakeside home, in perfect condition. Case has an enhanced original finish and is signed with C.L. & C. Ives, Bristol, Conn. paper label. 38 in. high x 17.5 in. wide x 5.75 in. deep.
