Eugene Farcot, French, 1830-1896. A late 19th century French "Lovers on a Swing" mantel clock. 8-day time only visible movement with porcelain chapter ring and Roman numerals, has a Farcot patent swinger escapement with double escape wheel, and cast pendulum with two figures, movement signed, "Chappement Brevete" with Eagle Trademark, serial #65734. Alabaster case with scrolled supports, urn finial with Gilded Brass arms, finials and appliques, painted bosses and lower panel, on scrolled feet. Some wear, edge chips and glued repairs to case, dial hairlines, running when cataloged. 18 1/2" high. ESTIMATE $1,500-2,500
