Description
F. Kroeber Vienna Regulator No. 47. Has a 7 in. inset porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals, brass bezel, sub seconds dial and fancy pierced hands; brass single weight driven time only 8 day movement with deadbeat escapement, long wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob & weight, missing pulley, movement signed F. Kroeber, numbered on the movement and bracket plate 64059. In an ebonized wood case with turned finials, pierced carved crest, turned and fluted corner spires on the door and carved lower bracket with teardrop finials. Crest is repaired, center rosette is replaced, case has a worn original finish with some age splits in the framing. 47 in. high x 15 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.

Late 19th century, New York, stamped to backplate ”F. Kroeber / NY.” and ”100000 / 23967”, the pendulum and movement each stamped ”23967”, the circular white porcelain double-sunken dial with black Roman numeral chapters and stick minute indices, subsidiary seconds dial, within brass bezels, attached to a single train wind, time-only movement, the pedimented wooden case with walnut finish, with glazed front and side panels, 69” H x 20” W x 7.5” D, est:$1500/2500

Overall good condition. General marks and scratches commensurate with age. Rubbing to subsidiary dial. Case re-finished. Running condition unknown and not guaranteed.
