English 8 Tube Oak Grandfather Clock. Quality 14 in. silvered dial has black incised Roman hour numerals surrounded by engraved swirling filigree, fancy pierced hands, 3 in. sub seconds dial and sub dials above for “Chime/Silent” & “Westminster Chimes/Whittington Chimes”. Quality brass 8 day weight driven movement is unsigned, has a Graham deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, half hour strike on 8 silvered tubular chimes signed “W. Moore, London” and strikes the hour on a coiled gong; has 3 brass covered weights with brass pulleys and a quality 1 glass jar mercurial compensating pendulum with a long steel rod. In a quality oak case, carved bonnet with broken pediment crest with turned finial, rosettes, filigree carved frieze, quarter columns on the corners and pierced carved side panels the body of the case has turned quarter columns, mullioned beveled glasses on the door and a relief filigree carved inset lower panel. In beautiful cleaned and restored condition, excellent refinished case. 103 in. high x 25 in. wide x 16 in. deep.

Monumental Mahogany 9 Tube Grandfather Clock. Quality signed Elliot, London movement has brass dial with fancy gilt pierced filigree in the center and spandrels, has a 12 in. silvered dial with applied brass Arabic hour numbers, fancy blued pierced hands, silvered sub seconds dial, moon phase, Silent-Chime and Whittington-Westminster dials. Quality brass, weight driven movement has Graham deadbeat escapement, stamped on the back H&H in a rectangle (Harris & Harrington) and stamped J.J. Elliot, London in an oval, numbered 5449; large brass cylinder attached to the movement plays Westminster and Whittington on 9 silvered tubes signed, Harris & Harrington, 3 quality brass weights and pulleys, quality brass pendulum bob with steel stick. The massive mahogany case has fluted turned columns on the bonnet with a large carved crest with leaf scrolls and flame finial centered over a lions head; the body has more turned columns over corbelled corners and fancy carvings. In very good condition and very good running condition. 104 in. high x 30 in. wide x 22 in. deep

Blued pierced hands, silvered chapter ring w/ applied brass Arabic numbers, sub seconds dial, and chime/silent & Westminster/Whittington sub dials, pierced swirling filigree in the center & spandrels with moon phase dial of a painted sea shore scene & sailing ship, signed Waltham Clock Co.; quality brass, weight driven movement, has Graham deadbeat escapement, 3 quality weights & pulleys, 3 jar mercurial pendulum with steel stick, tubes signed Waltham Clock Co. The large mahogany case has long turned, tapered and fluted corner columns with leaf carvings at the top and bottom, carved face below the dial, nice beveled glasses and stands on carved claw feet. In very good condition and original finish. 93.5 in. high x 30 in. wide x 18 in. deep.

In a beautiful carved mahogany case with arched bonnet top, medallion crest, carved filigree on the frieze, pierced carved side panels and turned columns on the corners with carved capitols; the body has a long beveled glass door with turned columns having carved capitols, inset carved panel in the base with turned corner columns and stands on carved claw feet. Large brass dial has a silvered 12 in. chapter ring with applied brass hour numbers, sub seconds dial, moon phase, sub dials for Chime/Silent & Westminster/Whittington, has fancy pierced blued hands, pierced gilt & engraved filigree center and corner spandrels, dial signed by the movement maker “Elliot, London” and retailed by Duryea & Potter, New York”. The brass weight driven movement has a Graham deadbeat escapement, retaining power, brass pulleys, brass covered weights & pendulum bob with long steel stick; movement signed “J.J. Elliot, London, 4585” and “H&H”, has 9 tubes striking Westminster and Whittington, also striking the hour, tubes are signed Harris & Harrington “436”. In an original finish carved R.J. Horner oak case with arched bonnet top having large turned finials, double columns on the sides and figural winged griffin corbels on the corners; the body of the case has large figural rattail maidens with arms crossed at their breast and double spiral twisted sea-serpent tails, beveled glass on the sides and oval front door. The base has a large carved inset front panel with swirling filigree, winged birds and center medallion with reclining putti in the center; inset side panels have swirling filigree and opposite facing heads at the top, stands on large turned and carved bun feet. 104 in. high x 31 in. wide x 17.5 in. deep
