the mahogany case with a carved leaf finial, lyre-form throat with scrolling leaf carvings and reverse-painted throat glass with gilt leaf filigree and a classical woman, brass 8-day weight-driven time-only movement, signed on the dial and movement, stamped "6" and "71" for 1971 on the case, additional stamp is "M.C.I.P" (Made Case in Prison) or (Massachusetts Correctional Institute at Plymouth)

Elmer O. Stennes Girandole Banjo Clock: The TO works are marked “E.O. Stennes Weymouth, Mass. 5”. The painted dial is marked “Elmer O. Stennes Weymouth, Mass.”. The throat is marked “L. Curtis Patent”. The tablet is of a marriage scene. The case is marked “M.C.I.P. 71” (Made case in prison, 1971.) There is also an eagle finial; the weight and pendulum with the clock.
Not tested.
(There is a small chip on the dial.)

Stennes, Weymouth, Mass, typical pierced hands and brass bezel; typical brass 8 day, weight driven time only Kilbourn & Proctor Inc. movement has steel pendulum rod with brass bob, lead weight and painted red weight baffle. Carved mahogany case has a leaf carved finial, lyre shaped throat with scrolling leaf carvings, reverse painted throat glass with gilt cornucopias on a white background, leaf carved bracket with teardrop final. In very good condition and original finish, replaced dial. 41 in. high

Stennes, Weymouth, Mass and bee mark, typical pierced hands and brass bezel; typical brass, 8 day, weight driven, time only Kilbourn & Proctor movement has steel pendulum rod with brass bob, lead weight and painted red weight baffle. Carved mahogany case has a leaf carved finial, lyre shaped throat with scrolling leaf carvings, reverse painted throat glass with gilt cornucopias and basket of fruit, tapered bracket with teardrop final and leaf carvings. In very good condition and original finish, glass, hands and dial are all in good condition. 41 in. high

A late 20th century Elmer O. Stennes Lyre Banjo clock. 8-day weight driven time only movement marked "Kilbourne & Proctor Inc." with a painted metal dial marked "Elmer O. Stennes, Weymouth. Mass." and Roman numerals also marked with a Bee at 6:00. Shaped Mahogany case with carved foliate finial above a circular Brass upper door and carved Lyre throat panel with reverse painted glass over molded lower drop with carved detail and acorn finial. The case is stamped with "12" in several locations. Minor case and finish wear, running when cataloged. 39 3/4" high overall. ESTIMATE $2,000-3,000
