A turn of the century Elliott grandfather clock. 8-day weight driven three train movement with quarter hour striking on eight bells and five coiled gongs, arched Brass dial with painted moon phases and engraved hemispheres, a Silvered chapter ring with Arabic numerals and subsidiary dials for seconds, Chime/Silent and Whittington/Chimes/Westminster, engraved filigreed spandrels and dial center, movement marked "Elliott, London, England" with serial #1321, damascened plates. Oak Chippendale style case features a molded broken arch top with turned finials over an arched molded crown and conforming dial door flanked by turned columns with fluted detail, over a waist door with geometric upper panel and beveled glass lower on a paneled base with short turned feet. Older refinishing with minor wear, running when cataloged. 96 3/4" high. ESTIMATE $2,000-4,000
