Elite iron grandfather clock has an 11 in. silvered dial signed "J.M. Henwood & Co., Binghampton, N.Y.," with gilt brass Arabic hour numerals, sub seconds dial and pierced brass central appliques, pierced decorated hands for Silent-Chime, Silent-Strike, 4 Bells or 8 Bells. Brass 8 day, weight driven movement signed on the back "Elite" and numbered "78723," has deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, quarter hour progressive strike on a rack of 8 tubular chimes and hour strike on a cathedral gong; chimes are signed "Elite, U.S. Pat. 68690, Nov. 12, 1901" and a large “0” beside the signature. In a pierced filigree decorated cast iron Gothic style floor standing case, long Gothic arched front door and glass panels on the sides. Case has an original black finish and is in very good overall condition, no repairs to the case, no cracks in the chimes, clock runs and strikes. 91.5 in. high x 22.5 in. wide x 14.5 in. deep.
